Trefriw Woollen Mills is situated on the B5106 in the centre of Trefriw. Parking and car drop off area is situated outside the shop, please reverse in as there is limited space for turning. Additional parking is in the car park opposite (50 metres approx.).
Public transport is by no 19 and X19 buses from Llandudno, Conwy, Llanrwst and Llangollen. The bus from Llandudno and Conwy stops directly opposite the mill, the bus from Llanrwst and Llangollen is situated approx. 60 metres along the main road. Shaded journeys in the timetable are normally operated by a Low Floor "Easy Access" bus. For information please phone Traveline Cymru 0870 6008 2 608.
The ground floor (shop, café, turbine house and weaving shed) is accessible via a steep ramp with a hand rail. Wheelchair users please ask for assistance if required. The main entrance is via wide swing doors which are normally fixed open in the Summer. If they are closed, we suggest a helper asks a member of the staff to hook them back before pushing the wheelchair up the ramp.
The turbine house and weaving area can be accessed through the shop (avoiding steps) - please ask a member of staff for assistance.
The hand spinner's cottage (open June - Sept) and the blending shed are also on the ground floor.
The top two floors of the mill (carding engines, spinning mules, doubling machine, hanker, warping mill and looms) are accessed via two flights of 15 steps each.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the shop and tearoom. They may be frightened by the noise of the machinery in the weaving shed and mill.
At present there are no toilets with facilities for disabled people on site, but there is one in the public car park opposite and the Radar key is available in our shop.
One of the directors has attended a Disability Awareness Course.
