The ground floor (shop, café, turbine house and weaving shed) is accessible via a steep ramp with a hand rail. People with wheelchair users please ask for assistance if required. The main entrance is via wide swing doors which are normally fixed open in Summer. If they are closed, we suggest a helper asks a member of the staff to hook them open before pushing the wheelchair up the ramp.
The ground floor weaving shed and turbine house can be accessed via a door at the end of the shop if you ask a member of staff. People with walking difficulties can also view the weaving through the windows in the tearoom. The craft studio (open June – September on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and the blending shed are also on the ground floor.
The top two floors of the mill museum (carding engines, spinning mules, doubling machine, hanker, warping mill and looms) are accessed via two flights of 15 steps each.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the shop and tearoom. They may be frightened by the noise of the machinery in the weaving shed and mill museum.
There are no toilets with facilities for disabled people on site, but there is one in the public car park opposite and the Radar key is available in our shop.
